Job Details:

This position will provide weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday), every other weekend for social work at Dayton Children's Hospital South campus, 2:00-10:30 pm. 16 hours per pay period.
  • Through psychosocial assessment, intervention strategies, and resource and referral linkages, is responsible for assisting patients and their families in understanding and learning to cope with illness and disability, providing child abuse assessments, and providing trauma support. This position works with other hospital and community agency personnel to ensure smooth service delivery, patient safety and family stability.  Provides emergency behavioral health pre-screening, psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and referral management to patients and their families.  Responsible for assisting patients and their families in understanding and learning to cope with behavioral crisis and facilitate appropriate transaction or admission planning for those patients needing placement in behavioral health treatment facilities or programs.  Assists families in resolving complex personal and environmental difficulties which interfere with effective social functioning and obtaining maximum benefit from medical care. Participates as a professional team member in patient care planning along with other hospital and community agency personnel. Provides education/consultation to health care professionals and the community regarding the impact of psychosocial factors. Responsible for the delivery of social work services which are available to the patient, the patient's family, and other persons significant to the patient, are well organized and directed, and integrated with other units and departments of the hospital/community. This position will collaborate interdepartmentally with all divisions of the hospital.

Required:  Master's degree in Social Work and licensed through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board.  LISW required.  Ability to recognize diagnostic symptoms and criteria using the DSM .  This position will provide Saturday and Sunday coverage, up to16 hours per pay period, and work with other weekend staff for coverage plan. 

This position will provide weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday), 16 hours per pay period, Second Shift, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm.  This position will work as part of a weekend team to ensure weekend shift coverage for medical social work and behavioral health assessments.   This position will collaborate interdepartmentally with all divisions of the hospital, especially the Emergency Department and the Behavioral Health Unit. This position provided medical social work and behavior health services.  This position is eligible for weekend shift differential for weekend shifts worked.
